There's No Cult of Dave

In the previous post, I noted some amusing parallels between David, his "fanbase" and cults. Just to set the record straight, no, I don't think Dave's a cult leader. The very idea's just plain preposterous.

David Farrant: Clearly not a cult leader.

I mean, honestly, who'd think that? He's got over forty years experience in the realm of psychic investigation, which he conducts with the utmost scientific rigor. He's legit. Sure, some people enter the field to make a quid or two, but Dave's totally above that kinda stuff.

Anyway, point is, he's most definitely not a cult leader. Let's just get that clear. After all, they're meant to be charismatic and engaging.

Poor Diddums

Here's an interesting Facebook update I stumbled across:

The books will be available at cost direct from a different website. Personally we don't give a stuff if no-one buys them, but they would make great Xmas/Birthday/Break-up presents for that special person.

What we like: shopping bags in trees, litter, stalking, drunks, ugly partners, daft friends, broken technology and loads of lovely drizzle.

What we don't like: kittens, puppies, beautiful landscapes and uplifting poetry. Unless they're intrinsically dismal.

Oh, and we'll probably include any of your downbeat comments, chats in the photobooks too.

So, all there is left to say is: pick up your cameras, and your phones. Its a terrible world out there. Let's see it!

Has David been an emo all along? I guess it'd fit in with his constant wailing about vampires and the Press out to get him.

Mr. Craigbond refers to shape of human penis; with relation to curvilenear of bell. Not wholesome. Suggest company of woman or small bird.

Net Curtains Drifts Away with the Breeze

Through its short duration (the first post was published on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 6:54 PM), it inspired a lot of debate with VRS sock puppet, "Demonologist", playing host to yet another online manifestation of the Highgate Vampire Feud.

With each installment, something new is always revealed.

But, no need to despair!

The blog has shifted to a new location. It bills itself as:

That Damn Cat!

Looks like I've been drawing fire over at The Cat's Miaow. It bills itself as "Pithy observations on the world's longest running feud from the world's deadlist cat!"

It's written by a frequent commenter on David's blog, The Human Touch, who goes by the name of "John Baldry's Cat".

The blog entry that covers my good self is "Cousin Hoggy's Final Triumph" in which I am satirised as being incredibly pedantic in a ruthless pursuit for truth from ol' Dave. Probably as revenge for daring to question Dave on inconsistencies within his testimony.

It even looks like a mock-up of my "interview" with the aforementioned old pasty.

Do you think it's a good likeness?

On the plus side, his blog did enable me to pinch his "Recent Comments" widget. Heh heh.

What Lurks Behind the Net Curtains?

As a bit of a counter to the VRS Propaganda Machine, a new blog has burst onto the scene.

It's called Net Curtains Lurkers, and its purports to serve as an "hilarious look at the 30 year feud between paranormal authors Sean Manchester and David Farrant". It's run by a mysterious person who uses the nom de plume, "Lone Stranger".

David linked me to the blog in an e-mail to me ("Re: Good Evening"), dated Thursday, 11 June 2009 3:11:52 PM.

I've already made a comment on its latest posting.

I was a little worried, however, to see a post called "Feud Watch!", considering that I also already have a "segment"/category of this title.
