Unpublished Comments Published!

It's been a while since I've signed into this thing, but after all the garbage that piled up, I'm sure you can't blame me.

I did notice 6 unpublished comments to my blog. I've tried to have them published, but Blogger isn't letting me for some reason. Thank goodness for comment notifications.

The comments will be reproduced within this post instead.

Here's Trystan's comment to "Another David Speaks" (Mon, Oct 26, 2009 at 7:50 PM):

Hi Anthony - Trystan from Righteous Indignation Podcast here (www.ripodcast.co.uk).

I spent Saturday at an event related to ghosts, ghouls and all things strange. It just so happened that David Carter-Green was present and I ended up having a good chat with him about the whole Highgate thing. He came across as a very articulate and pleasant man who treated the situation with a good sense of humour.

In regard to being friends or followers of anyone on Facebook as being some badge of allegiance I would reconsider. I am Facebook friends with David Farrant and also, until recently, with Sean Manchester. I only removed the latter after he threatened to get our podcast website closed down.

Next up, John Baldry's Cat's comment to "I'm Checking In" (Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 6:06 AM):

I think David's response to the bishop's "offer" was a joke, i.e. "Sure, I'll with meet you, if your internet alter ego is there too." Probably safe to say he never intended to show up on the man's doorstep and risk it being interpreted to authorities as harassment. I don't know the actual details, but it seems Sean and David have a past history of legal court proceedings with charges and counter changes going back several years that featured accusations of "harassment" from both sides.

Now, Demonologist with this for "Strange Goings-On at Facebook" (Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 5:27 PM):

The impression being given to Seán Manchester was at odds with the activity and behaviour Carter-Green was displaying on Facebook and elsewhere.

A comment posted by Carter-Green on a bizarre Facebook group called "David Carter-Green is Totty" reads:

"Have you tried my new line in aftershave, DCG's 'Stench of Death'? It combines the distinctive yet subtle smell of the mortuary, with just a hint of freshly dug grave. It's proved very popular with heavy metal rock fans."

What Carter-Green is now claiming about his non-endorsement of Seán Manchester's views on vampires contradicts what he has written on paranormal websites he has joined that are independent of the Vampire Research Society and Seán Manchester.

It should be made absolutely clear that Carter-Green made all the approaches to Seán Manchester and groups associated with the latter. How he ever became an admin on one or two of them is a mystery and clearly a mistake now rectified.

Carter-Green has shown erratic behaviour in the past where he criticised Seán Manchester's account of the Highgate Vampire case, and then, some time later, endorsed it on paranormal websites.

Mounting anomalies and instability where David Carter-Green is concerned made his expulsion inevitable. He is therefore no longer the concern of anyone associated with Seán Manchester.

More Clues to TFO's Identity

In "Dennisologist?", I related some clues that point to TFO's (aka Gothic aka Vampirologist aka Demonologist) identity.

Well, I've just uncovered some more, courtesy of Bloody Feather (BF), an online "community of dark adult writers."

As we've established, "Vampirologist" is one of TFO's several usernames.

As it happens, it's also the username of someone registered with BF.

A male, from England, who lists 6 VRS-related message boards and 4 links to sites on the VRS webpage as his websites.

He also describes himself as, "International Secretary of the Vampire Research Society". He reasserts his vocation in this blog entry for his BF journal.

The VRS's homepage says that Dennis Crawford fills this role.

TFO also happens to be the founder of the copy-n-paste VRS blog.

Coincidentally enough, Dennis' BF profile status lists him as an "Harasser".

Peas in a Pod

It seems that TFO ("Demonologist") has inadvertently revealed how entwined Manchester and Farrant are in the Highgate Vampire Case.

In this comment to John Baldry Cat's "Farrant Rates Women of the World", TFO displays his uncanny grasp of minutiae concerning the good Bishop. In this case, discussing other publishers who were interested in Manchester's tale, The Highgate Vampire.

However, it wound up being published by the British Occult Society in 1985, an organisation Manchester served as president of, at the time. Why? Here's one reason:

One of the amendments to his manuscript that was found unacceptable by him [Manchester -ed.] was the excising of all reference to Farrant whom the publisher saw as superfluous to the account.

TFO then presents a speculative what-if scenario, also inadvertently revealing how indebted Farrant should be to Manchester, for helping him turn Farrant into a renowned public figure:

If the same book was being written today, Seán Manchester would probably not mention Farrant who, if he is known at all (I've lost count of all the people who have said they would never have heard of Farrant but for reading Seán Manchester's book) it is because of the success of "The Highgate Vampire" which is about to be turned into a major cinema film.

Good one.

Of course, the "if he is known at all" statement is especially amusing not only in light of TFO frequently mentioning Farrant in his writings, but also being a follower of VRS Member Arminius Vámbéry's Farrant-devoted blog, In the Shadow of the Highgate Vampire.

And he's not the only one.

Trespassing on Private Property

In a recent comment, "Demonologist" (TFO) disputed some items I wrote concerning the Bishop's investigation into the Kirklees Vampire.

I stated that the Bishop had trespassed on private property to carry out his "vigil". I also said that Manchester himself, admitted this.

TFO's response was, "Where? Please provide the source reference with a verbatim quote."

Let's turn to "The Kirklees Vampire", an article by Sean Manchester that appeared in The Unexplained 38 (1992), p. [761].

The alleged scene of this vampire haunt was a "dense woodland not far from an old, almost forgotten priory gatehouse in the precincts of Kirklees Hall Estate", says the article. However, as this land was in private ownership, Manchester had to obtain permission to conduct his investigation.

In Manchester's own words, here's what happened:

I approached the landowner, Lady Margerete Armytage, and requested permission to hold a vigil and carry out a number of experiments near the tomb. Unfortunately this was not granted.

Take note of the admittance, "this was not granted."

Especially when just a couple of paragraphs later, Manchester says:

It was now time to organise an unofficial vampire hunt, which finally went ahead on the evening of Sunday, 22 April 1990.

This sentence helps kill two birds with one stone.

You see, TFO also previously disputed that it was Manchester's intention to hold a vampire-hunting vigil:

Except that Seán Manchester's vigil was not a "vampire-hunting vigil." It was a vigil to determine what the nature of the disturbances might be.

There's not much room to determine what the "nature" of a "disturbance" might be, if one blatantly admits to holding "an unofficial vampire hunt", is there?

I also stated that Manchester had "anti-vampire gear" on his person. Demonologist's response was: "What "anti-vampire gear"?"

Let's refer back to the article again:

I unfastened my large bag of accoutrements and removed an armoury of crucifixes, holy water, garlic, candles and all known vampire-repellents, before continuing.

That anti-vampire gear.

Demonologist Changes Robes

After being repeatedly rumbled over at Net Curtains Lurkers, VRS member, "Demonologist", went into a sabbatical, as covered here by Lone Stranger.

I ended up checking out Deme's Blogger profile page for any activity and was somewhat amused by what I found.

I hurriedly reported my findings to Mr. Stranger's blog entry:

It looks like Deme’s slipped off his moniker.

Check out his profile page. He’s gone back to referring to himself as “Vampirologist”!

This prompted Mr. Stranger to write "Demonologist Changes Name – Connects Himself to Manchester!" due to my tip-off.

He also added:

Hey and he forgot himself and linked this screen name directly to his real identity!

Slipping up old boy?

Straight from the Cubicles

It seems that the Lone Stranger and his Cubicle Posse have settled into their new surroundings quite nicely.

They've even garnered a mention on Eric Nuzum's blog. He's the author of The Dead Travel Fast: Stalking Vampires from Nosferatu to Count Chocula (2007).

Of particular interest, is Lone's coverage of the VRS Facebook page:

I guess the old boy is watching from somewhere, but is still too much of a coward to post. However, finding himself thoroughly rumbled on Facebook, he’s changed his share link photo to something more generic and pestered Blogger until the altered cover image was taken down.

The picture originally featured on the VRS Facebook page was an inexplicably edited version of the cover of Sean Manchester's The Highgate Vampire (1985).

As Lone notes, it's since been changed.

In my comment to Lone's blog entry, I mentioned that the image they've changed it to, is a colourised version (?) of William Mortensen's "The Vampire" (1936). I've previously dealt with that picture elsewhere.

And, last but not least, Lone has also chronicled the strange "disappearance" of Demonologist from his blog. See: "Monday Morning Clean Up & the Demonologist Vanishes" and "The Demonologist/Sean Disappears – Rumors Fly".

Will Deme surface again? Will he be wearing a new disguise? Only time will tell...

Now We're Getting Somewhere!

This is a follow-up to "Slouching Toward Disclosure".

Here is "Demonologist"'s response concerning his affiliation to the VRS (despite previously only referring to himself as a "personal acquaintance" of Manchester:

I have never denied that I am a member of the Vampire Research Society.

How we decide to print material is our decision, not the decision of some disgruntled youth in Australia who is having a hissy fit.

Never denied it? Never disclosed it, either.

Until now.

So, this is indeed a first.

The reference to "printing" material, concerns his practice of copy-n-pasting huge tracts of VRS text - without attribution - and posting them on public media. A similar practice is carried out by another shady VRS member.

Now, all we need is a name for this mysterious individual, and we could really get somewhere!

Slouching Toward Disclosure

Demonologist has been getting awfully close to disclosing his identity.

In a recent comment to Lone Stranger's "Feud Watch!" blog entry, he writes:

If, as the Aussie "Overseer" says, my "blogs consist of copy-n-pasted VRS material" that could possibly be because I am a VRS member and have consent to use such material.

Yet, as I pointed out in my response:

If you do indeed have consent to regurgitate such material...why is this not disclosed anywhere in your blogs?

And, more importantly, what is the point of you regurgitating such things...if it's already on the bloody web? Why not just link to it? Provide commentary...something that would justify your blog's existence apart from being part of a VRS propaganda drive.

The response to that should be interesting.

And quite possibly evasive.

Is Manchester Aware of What's Being Written About Him?

In a comment to Lone Stranger's "The Great Vampire Hunter and His Kit", "Demonologist" wrote:

I cannot imagine Seán Manchester wasting his time reading blogs about himself. He might have something brought to his attention by someone to clear up a question or because of unlawful activity involving his identity or his property, but he would not be aware of much else. I somehow doubt he would bother to actually view such blogs.

Well, there's a simple way to verify that.

If we skip over to Manchester's Blogger profile, then we're able to see which blogs he "follows".

Amidst several Catholic blogs, we have:

• In the Shadow of the Highgate Vampire. A plagiaristic blog focused on David Farrant. Significant, especially, as much of the plagiarism is from Manchester's own writings. Its "author" is someone who co-administrates the VRS's Facebook page.
  
• Journal of a Vampirologist. Another plagiaristic blog that includes regurgitated items from VRS sources.
  
• And, of course, Vampire Research Society. One that wasn't written by a VRS representative, but by a "personal acquaintance".
  

The last two blogs are also significant because...they are "written" by none-other than, yep, Demonologist, himself.

And, lastly, let's not forget who was responsible for the removal of Don's report from Scribd.

In Defence of Blinking

"Demonologist" recently posted a response in Net Curtains Lurkers' "Crazed Sean on YouTube" post concerning my "What's in a Blink?" blog entry.

Indeed, his response made it almost seem as if...he was there!: defence

He was facing strong sunlight when interviewed which might make anyone blink rapidly when dazzled by the sun for a duration, but, due to his eye condition, Keith Maclean frequently blinks rapidly whether he is listening, speaking or viewing.

Uncanny.

When he was asked this by "American Psycho":

Ok, Mr. "Demonologist", one might equally ask if you are also an aquaintance of Keith McLean's, if you are so familiar with his eye-blinking habit..?

He said:

I happen to be acquainted with Keith Maclean, not that it is any business of yours, sufficient to be aware of his impairment.

It's amazing how many "acquaintances" this man has! Including, of course, Sean Manchester:

I am personally acquainted with Bishop Seán Manchester and have been for some considerable time.

However, one must regard it as a bit strange that a mere "acquaintance" would also be given the task of "writing" the VRS's copy-n-paste blog. (See his profile).

And it's no mere unofficial fan site. After all, the VRS includes it as a link on their "Highgate Vampire Domain" page.

Oh, and Sean Manchester, himself, happens to be one of its followers...

Dennisologist?

Some time ago, I wrote a blog entry which openly queried just who our chum, "Demonologist" aka TFO, might be. I also stumbled across some further clues.

Deme's latest comment-flood, however, gave away something incredibly interesting.

All it took, was this little snippet of text:

Let me make Bishop Seán Manchester's position quite clear. He has no interest in party politics and has at no time in his life been a member of any political party.

What's that? Speaking on the Bishop's behalf with an air of representative authority?

That's a pretty odd call to make, considering that he only claims to be "personally acquainted with Bishop Seán Manchester and have been for some considerable time."

I decided to Google portions of "Demonologist"'s comment-flood with the expectation of finding it regurgitated from elsewhere.

I wasn't let down:

Let me make Bishop Manchester's position quite clear. He has no interest in party politics and has at no time in his life been a member of any political party.

That quote came from a post called "The Devil's Fool", dated 6/23/2007 6:38 AM, on The Cross and the Stake message board.

The most significant item, however, is its author: "From: MSN NicknameDennisCrawford1".

Yep, it's the username of the one-and-the-same International Secretary of the Vampire Research Society.

Funnily enough, remarkably "similar" content to Dennis' post and "Demonologist"'s comments, can also be found on "Arminius Vámbéry"'s "Wicca Workers Party" blog entry for In the Shadow of the Highgate Vampire.

Well, as the old adage goes: with friends like these...

Demonologist Gets Sidetracked

Unsurprisingly, TFO aka "Demonologist" bypassed my previous post and instead, shifted his focus on something truly insipid and paltry, via a comment he left on "Wanna Be Their Friend?".

The blog entry gave coverage to "rival" Facebook groups, namely the Highgate Vampire Society (presided by David Farrant) and the Vampire Research Society (presided over by Sean Manchester).

In the post, I pointed out that the VRS group "outranks David's group of "friends" (40 members against 77, as of this writing)".

TFO/Demonologist decided to "correct" this statement thusly:

It actually outranks Farrant's group by significantly more.

You might want to review your statistics.

The Vampire Research Society currently has 177 members (not 77).

While Farrant's Highgate Vampire Society has 43 members on Facebook.

Obviously, TFO/Demonologist isn't familiar with the term "as of this writing". The "statistics" were correct at the time of my blog entry's publication, i.e., Friday, May 1, 2009 1:44am.

Apart from the blatant error, I do wonder what TFO is getting at. Is he trying to say that because Manchester's group has more "friends", that it somehow makes it more legitimate?

What an odd way of upholding their claims!

Let's discount friend requests, spam, multiple user names and so forth, to think about this for a second. Let's say, for argument's sake, that all the people on the VRS's page genuinely want to be the Bishop's friend.

Has the VRS surveyed them to determine how many actually believe what the VRS claims? How do you know they're not merely "fans" of his writings and/or claims rather than actual believers?

Facebook is populated by a huge array of strange groups. Who's to say the VRS isn't viewed in the same manner?

Now that we've sorted all that out, will you get onto responding to my queries directed at yourself, Demonologist?

Demonologist Haunts My Blog

"Demonologist" aka TFO, recently posted a comment to "Discussing Public Figures on LiveJournal".

I'll now take this opportunity to respond to his ramblings:

I am personally acquainted with Bishop Seán Manchester and have been for some considerable time.

Oh really? In what capacity would that be? His International Secretary, by chance?

He is exceptionally learned in the field of demonolatry, especially vampire lore, and has given talks and lectures about these topics for four decades, having contributed to radio, television and film productions over the same period.

And still continues to do so, despite being publicity shy.

His works in print are among the most popular non-fiction books about vampires and vampirism to be found anywhere. The Highgate Vampire is probably his best known.

That's hard to determine, really. I mean, the VRS (you author/copy-n-paste a blog under their banner) still hawks his books at every available opportunity which is interesting, considering that The Highgate Vampire (I'm almost certain you're referring to the second edition) was published in 1991. His other non-fiction work on vampires, The Vampire Hunter's Handbook, was published in 1997. You guys must have a lot of leftover copies.

Therefore, I take offence to the suggestion that Bishop Manchester has ever harassed anyone when, in fact, plenty of people have taken it upon themselves to harass and stalk him.

I find this a little amusing, considering the tactics the VRS (Manchester is their prez) employ, themselves. The FoBSM are no better.

Firstly, if you want an example of obsessive blogging, check this out. Secondly, you're obviously referring to David Farrant; a guy who leaves such a bitter aftertaste in your mouth, that you can barely bring yourself to say his name.

An American by the name of Alex Lucard has been obsessively blogging about Bishop Seán Manchester for years, employing calumny from the usual source, ie a man convicted for tomb vandalism and desecration in Highgate Cemetery during the 1970s who was sentenced to four years' eight months' imprisonment; someone who has done nothing more with his life than pursue malicious vendettas, most particulary against Bishop Manchester, and someone who views the bishop as his arch-nemesis regarding the Highgate Vampire case.

Also, if you think David, alone, views Manchester as his "arch-nemesis", then how do you explain this. And this?

Alex Lucard, whose issues of transparent envy might stem from the fact that he is a horror film fan, makes the unsubstantiated and absurd claim that because his self-advertised surname and initial - "A Lucard" - spell "Dracula" backwards Bishop Seán Manchester must therefore inevitably be stalking him with view to driving a stake through his heart!

Or he could have been joking? After all, his blog - Icon. Showstoppah. Main Eventah. - makes several jokey references to getting staked. And not all in association with Sean Manchester, at that.

Only a a very silly youngster with an obsession about such ideas could dream up something like that!

Or, a silly old bugger unsavvy enough to take him literally!

Bishop Seán Manchester has not “stalked” anyone, least of all Alex Lucard whom he does not know, has never heard of and, if he had, would not be remotely interested in. Why would a celebrated English author and consecrated bishop be interested in someone thousands of miles away in another country with a penchant for asininity?

So if Manchester wasn't aware of Lucard...then who reported his blog to LJ Abuse? How could a faceless, non-entity be behind the closure of a blog if the person it "maligns"...didn't even have any awareness of it?

Lucard, in actual fact, has a history of stalking Bishop Seán Manchester on the internet, not the other way around.

Prove it. Let's see where Lucard has "stalked" Manchester.

Apart from a similar rebuttal (probably made by me), you will find no mention of Alex Lucard on any of Bishop Seán Manchester's boards and forums. You will, however, find plenty of mention of Bishop Seán Manchester on Alex Lucard's multifarious websites where convicted UK felon David Farrant often inserts his libellous abuse and malicious falsehood when Lucard is not repeating it himself.

Yes, I've seen your spiel about Lucard reiterated/copy-n-pasted elsewhere. Most notably here, here and here, with very little variation in between.

Why is Lucard so obsessed with Bishop Seán Manchester? That, I suppose, is strictly something for Alex Lucard and his psychiatrist to work out.

The question is, why are you obsessed with Lucard? After all, you aren't Manchester's rep - at least, this is something you won't presently divuldge. As I've pointed out, you've posted extremely similar posts on Lucard, elsewhere. If Manchester doesn't even have any awareness of this man, then why are you fanning the flames?

However, if you want to know why Lucard is "obsessed" with Manchester, you could check out his side of the story here, in which he also notes: "Eventually though he [Manchester -ed.] decided to play nasty. He would complain to LJabuse that his name was showing up in my LJ and that it was an invasion of his privacy."

Strange actions for someone unaware of Lucard.

All I hear is talk about what this or that misfit is threatening to do against Bishop Seán Manchester - usually from the safety of another country and always with the culprit hiding behind a computer. Nothing ever happens, of course, because these people are cowardly non-entities trying to steal some limelight for themselves by making false allegations and fabricating nonsense in order to ride briefly on the coat-tails of a much admired figure in England who is not even aware of their existence.

So, again, why are you drawing attention to them? You follow a blog dedicated to David Farrant.

As to "hiding behind a computer", that's pretty rich for someone (yourself) I've exposed multiple times as a plagiarist (as has an actual vampirologist) and user of different aliases.

You've previously ripped-off my username, falsely accused me of ripping it off you, started a blog that rips its title off mine (and my forum)... You're hardly an innocent yourself.

And now what are you doing? Firing off potshots at someone (Lucard) - from the "safety of another country" (i.e., the UK) - all the while hiding behind your computer, also. Such blatant hypocrisy.

Trying to bolster your "readership"?

In the Shadow of a Plagiarist

It doesn't really surprise me that the author of a blog called, In the Shadow of the Highgate Vampire (ITSOTHV), is a blatant plagiarist akin to TFO (if he isn't TFO, himself. "Coincidentally", TFO is also the blog's only follower, as of this writing).

Not only is the title of ITSOTHV "borrowed" from David's latest autobiography, the banner "borrowed" from one of my posts (both mentioned in the previous entry), but it also seems he can't keep his grubby little hands off Manchester's work, either.

Compare ITSOTHV's "Introduction" against "Introduction by the Author" in Manchester's Aftermath of the Highgate Vampire: Final Struggle Against a Post-Demonic Infestation at Highgate (AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH).

Then, match up ITSOTHV's "Hymn to Pan" with AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH's "Part the Ninth". Now, ITSOTHV's "Invoking the Vampire" and AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH's "Part the Second". And then ITSOTHV's "A Convenient Bandwagon" with AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH's "Part the First".

I'm sure you're getting the picture now, but I'll cite two more, just to drive a stake through this undead beast.

Compare ITSOTHV's "Dark Secrets" against AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH's "Part the Eighth" and, lastly, ITSOTHV's "Source of Falsification" with AOTHV:FSAAPDIAH's "Part the Third".

Yes, essentially we have a Blogger blog featuring regurgitations from Manchester's still-extant ClearBlogs blog, "written" (i.e., copy and pasted) by a bloke naming himself after a dead Hungarian scholar.

You might be asking yourself, quite rightly, "what's the bloody point?"

That's an interesting question in light of the "endorsement" ITSOTHV is given by the VRS, by virtue of it being linked via their Facebook group. Its administrator is Sean Manchester himself. Evidentally, the VRS/he supports wholesale plagiarism.

Unless, of course, it's not plagiarism at all, but Manchester regurgitating his material under a pseudonym, using a variety of forums to rehash the same old stuff.

But why would a vampire-huntin' Bishop want to do something as crazy as that?

Hi Anthony,

That is all far too much to answer now but I'll get back to your essential points later which you can publish if you want.

The Society was originally formed in 1967 and called the British Occult Society. Manchester became a 'fringe member' in 1969 but was later expelled in 1970 for canvassing for the National Front and using the Society's name in the Press without our permission. The name of the Society was changed to the BPOS in 1983 because Manchester had embarked upon a vendetta against us following his expulsion.

The link he supplied me with, is one that I already covered in "Farrant on YouTube". In it, he is billed as an "Ancien gourou Lucifierien" (Former Luciferian guru). Of course, TFO went on to give coverage to the same video, in which he pinched my screencap and Babelfish-powered translation of the caption accorded to David. See: "Qui profane nos tombes?", British Occult Society.

TFO notes that:

Farrant also has no problem during this interview being described as a "Luciferian" and a "Satanist."

Elsewhere. of course, he has denied being a Satanist, or anything vaguely like one, and has also denied ever encountering a vampire.

This is interesting, in light of the information provided on David's own website ("FAQ"):

A HGH PRIEST IN WICCA?

Yes. Well, I used to be. I guess in one respect, I still am. Its rather like a priest in any Church. Just because he (or she) retires does not mean they are no longer an ordained Priest.

But now we have an interesting kettle of fish - namely, that David claims to have been the original founder of the British Occult Society.

Not only that, but that it was actually founded in 1967, rather than the earlier date mentioned by "Vampirologist" ("Genesis of the Vampire Research Society", Vampire Research Society):

The British Occult Society was originally formed as an umbrella organisation circa 1860 [of the Ghost Club Society -ed.]. Much of its activities in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century are shrouded in mystery. It came out of the closet, however, in the mid-twentieth century before finally disappearing in 1988. During that period it was presided over by Seán Manchester who placed emphasis on investigating the claims of the occult and the study and research of paranormal phenomena. Out of this history sprang the Vampire Research Society, founded by the president of the British Occult Society who first appeared on British television on 13 March 1970

Even more disturbingly, David claims that Manchester was a "'fringe' member" until he was booted out for canvassing for the National Front (a right-wing, British racist organisation) and using the BOS's name.

This, of course, completely contradicts Manchester's version ("The 1970 Television Interviews with David Farrant"):

David Farrant was not a member of the British Occult Society which, until its dissolution in August 1988, was strictly an organisation for the examination of alleged occult and paranormal phenomena. It did not countenance occult practices. Its president was an exorcist who, in later years, entered holy orders.

Dennis Crawford, International Secretary of the Vampire Research Society, also elaborates (Message 2, "Vampire Research Society", The Highgate Vampire):

The British Occult Society, prior to its dissolution on 08.08.88, was presided over by Seán Manchester who accepted the leadership on 21 June 1967. The BOS made its television debut on 13 March 1970 when its president featured on Today (Thames Television) to represent the Society’s investigation into reported happenings in and around Highgate Cemetery, London, which had been accumulating since early 1967.

So who's telling the truth?

Either way, I look forward to David providing answers to these and the other questions I posed him in previous entries.

Is Dennis Crawford Actually The (Fake) Overseer in Disguise?

The latest post on TFO's new blog, Vampire Research Society, would seem to indicate as much.

In strangely referring to itself as an "Advisory Service on Vampires and Vampirism", it fails to mention that its (so far only) post cribs a sizable chunk of Dennis Crawford's ("DennisCrawford1") message 1 on "The British Occult Society & The Ghost Club Society" thread from the British Occult Society MSN Group.

Has a mere Sean Manchester sympathiser (which TFO bills himself to be) set himself as a representative of the VRS? It should be noted that Dennis Crawford is the organisation's International Secretary. (See: Vampire Research Society homepage).

That's not the only thing the homepage reveals.

For some unknown reason, the VRS has decided to incorporate TFO's plagiaristic blog, Journal of a Vampirologist, into its menu. So, obviously TFO must be "speaking" with some air of authority on the VRS's behalf.

The plot thickens when we take into account Dennis' Oct 1, '06 criticism of my use of the username, "The Overseer", in association with my MSN Group:

I nevertheless refer you to the first nine words of St Paul's First letter to Timothy (3: 2-7) which describes qualities required of an Overseer: "An overseer, then, or bishop, must be above reproach ..." The Revised English Bible uses the word "bishop" whereas the New American Standard Bible employs "overseer." An overseer in ecclesial terms is a bishop.

Yet, strangely, Dennis took a completely different, much more tolerant view of TFO ripping-off my own username, for his own purposes:

The manager of Did A Vampire Walk In Highgate? took to employing the pseudonym The Overseer in protest against Hogg's misuse of the title.

"Misuse"?

I fail to see how ripping-off my username "in protest", then using it to repetitively plagiarise VRS and other sources, warrants such acts of social justice. I'd hardly call that action "above reproach".

If TFO is indeed Dennis Crawford, then he's got a lot to answer for.

For one thing, it is fairly indicting of the International Secretary of the VRS, when he engages in the game of publicly revealing personal information (i.e., my real name) of people who use the VRS website, all the while hiding behind a username - one adopted from myself, no less - to carry out a vendetta against myself. This is one in a catalogue of shady tactics.

I'd call for his resignation.

But does Dennis Crawford even speak on his own behalf?

Craig Adams, a former member of Don Ecker's Dark Matters forum, alleged that the following usernames all emanated from Sean Manchester's IP:

Manchester on Blogger

Sean (or Seán) Manchester has decided to enter the Blogger arena with Metaphysical Meanderings.

As of this writing, it has two followers.

One's a bloke named Anant Verna (Words 'N' Views) and the other is - perhaps unsurprisingly - "Vampirologist" (aka "Gothic" aka "The Overseer"), plagiari- I mean, author of Did a Wampyr Walk in Highgate?.

Yeah, he couldn't even come up with his own title.

But, back to Manchester's blog.

A couple of things caught my attention. Well, apart from having shameless brown-noser/propagandist/sympathiser TFO being a follower of his blog.

Firstly, Manchester's "Luisa" entry implies that the black and white photograph featured, is none other than a woman who was allegedly turned into a vampire, then later staked by the author of The Highgate Vampire (1985; 1991):

Lusia has never been identified by her real name and, until now, a photograph at the time of my knowing her has not been published. Sufficient decades have perhaps now passed to permit the one shown from my archive.

It's certainly a brazen move.

Especially considering the potential legal ramifications.

The other item of note, is the link given in "My Web Page" within Manchester's profile page.

Where does it lead, you ask?

Why, to the Vampire Research Society's "Books by Seán Manchester" page, of course! Shop smart!

Gothic Revealed!

I first wrote about a mysterious commenter on my blog named "Gothic" in "Drive-By Comments".

In "Gothic Returns!", I also noted that

Every time I check the link to his profile, it leads me to a dead end. Should this happen again, his comments will be rejected for publication.

Well, I noticed something rather interesting when I tried the link again.

This time, it actually works!

But guess where it leads to?

Yup, that's right: none-other than the profile page of TFO!

However, he's had yet-another change of name. This time, he's using "Vampirologist" as his handle.

Interestingly, this is a handle that has been used for some years on the website he lists as his own, on his Blogger profile page.

So why the need to temporarily rip-off my own username? Especially after nonsensically claiming that I "adopted" his username...despite my use of it sometime beforehand. (see: "Insanity, Misrepresentations and Assumptions: Part One")

I also enjoyed his rather-telling view of himself, when criticising my rationale for refusing a comment by "Gothic" aka TFO aka "Vampirologist":

Something the FoBSM Administation did not mention, however, is the fact that Hogg allows no post to appear on his blog in the normal way when the commentator is sympathetic to Bishop Manchester.

So much for being "independent".

It's Back!

TFO aka The Pseudoseer's latest attempts to hijack my online name and "property" have inspired me to do something I've been holding off for a while: restarting my Windows Live Space site!

It was shut down some time ago, but you can now visit it here. I've even put up my first post. Ain't it precious!

This blog, of course, will still be seeing active service, so you'll have to tune in to see what kind of goodies I post on that one.

Movin' to Multiply

Out of necessity...

...I've had to move my MSN Group, Did a Wampyr Walk in Highgate? over to Multiply. So, if you're a current member of my group, you should be getting an e-mail notifying you of the change. The group should still be accessible. Until February, that is.

I was unfortunately unable to use the same ident (that is DidaWampyrWalkinHighgate) as part of my new URL, as it was too long. Nor was I able to use my abbreviated "dawwih" (which I had previously used with my defunct Windows Live Space account) as this had already been taken. Take a guess by who.

Yep, our old chum The (Fake) Overseer! And isn't that cute? He even decided to plagiarise my message board's username as well!

He even pinched my username, too. So, from henceforth, you'll recognise me on Multiply as...theoriginaloverseer! Try not to confuse us.
